Best Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The season's star card, and arguably the most powerful, is Agamotto, the ancient sorcerer with ties to Doctor Strange. Let's dive into the best Agamotto decks.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with the ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)

Notice the Arcana lack power cost, using the "Banish" keyword instead of entering the discard pile. This means they can combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna Renslayer or Mister Negative won't affect them. Agamotto's diverse Arcana make him difficult to categorize into a single archetype.

Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While Agamotto's own archetype may take time to develop, he excels in two existing deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Wiccan Control

This deck (Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galacta, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth) is expensive, featuring many Series 5 cards. While most cards can be substituted with similar-cost alternatives, Bolts of Balthakk provides crucial late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful copies, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galacta. Cassandra Nova's synergy is further enhanced by the new Eson card. [Untapped decklist link here]

Push Scream

Another expensive deck (Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto), this list benefits from Agamotto's versatility. Wombs of Watoomb is a direct synergy, while Temporal Manipulation makes Agamotto a potent turn 6 play, especially after Bolts of Balthakk. Images of Ikonn can create multiple Screams or Spider-Mans for devastating board control. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counters Luke Cage/Shadow King decks. [Untapped decklist link here]

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto, if un-nerfed, rivals Thanos and Arishem in power, potentially disrupting the meta and frustrating opponents. His potential to create a new archetype makes the \$9.99 USD Season Pass a worthwhile investment for many players.
