Escape Academy is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This marks the fourth free game Epic has offered this year, and based on its OpenCritic score, it's the highest-rated title so far.
This escape-the-room puzzle game, developed by Coin Crew Games, originally launched in July 2022 for PC and consoles. Players assume the roles of students at the Escape Academy, training to become escape room experts.
Available for PC gamers starting January 16th, Escape Academy will be free to claim until January 23rd. This replaces Turmoil as the free offering on the Epic Games Store. Interestingly, Escape Academy was previously a free Epic Games Store title on January 1st, 2024, but this giveaway provides a full week of access. This is particularly convenient for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as the game is leaving the service on January 15th after an 18-month run.

Positive player reviews are found on Steam and other platforms. The game offers solo play, as well as well-regarded online and split-screen multiplayer options, making it a top choice for co-op puzzle enthusiasts.
Following Escape Academy, the fifth free game of 2025 on the Epic Games Store will be announced on January 16th. Players enjoying the main game can also purchase two DLC packs: "Escape From Anti-Escape Island" and "Escape From the Past," individually at $9.99 each or as a Season Pass for $14.99.
