Fortnite Kinetic Blade Guide: Location and Usage
The Kinetic Blade, a fan-favorite melee weapon from Chapter 4 Season 2, returns to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 6 Season 1 (Fortnite Hunters). While the Typhoon Blade also offers katana combat, this guide clarifies how to find and effectively use the Kinetic Blade.
Locating the Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade appears as floor loot in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. It can also be found inside standard and Rare chests. However, its current drop rate is relatively low, and the absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) further reduces its discoverability.
Mastering the Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade is a powerful melee weapon that emphasizes speed and surprise. Unlike the Typhoon Blade's sprint mechanic, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack. This lunge attack inflicts 60 damage upon impact and can be chained up to three times before requiring a recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks back opponents. This attack can lead to additional fall damage and even eliminations if the opponent is sent off a high point.
