Freedom Wars Remastered: How to Make Strong Weapons

Quick Links

Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a dystopian struggle against monstrous Abductors. As a Sinner, enhancing your weaponry is crucial for survival. This involves boosting base stats and equipping modules for significant combat advantages. Weapon and accessory upgrades are readily available, eliminating reliance on mission rewards alone. This guide details the weapon upgrade process and its benefits.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon upgrades become available after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main storyline. This unlocks the Facility Management Function, accessible through the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility allows for comprehensive weapon management. Upgrades require resources and Entitlement Points, costs that can be lowered by employing a Citizen with Facility Manager Aptitude. The process is intuitive despite its initial complexity.

Before upgrading, a preview screen displays the stat changes. The facility also supports Element addition, Module experimentation, and Module Slot management. To achieve higher weapon Grades, purchase the necessary permits from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early missions often yield low-Grade weapons. While Zakka in The Warren sells weapons, these are primarily Grade Level 1. Upgrading becomes essential for effective combat. A CODE 3 Exam requires obtaining higher-Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing focused weapon upgrades. Discarding lower-Grade weapons acquired during missions reduces your sentence and earns additional Entitlement Points.

Upgrading unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the system. The substantial damage increase between Grades makes weapon enhancement a worthwhile investment. Note that the Ability Development Facility, part of Facility Management, unlocks later in the game.
