In the world of gaming, rifts are rarely good news. However, Avid Games has embraced the chaos with Eerie Worlds, a highly anticipated follow-up to their tactical CCG, Cards, the Universe and Everything. This new game retains the fun and educational elements of its predecessor, but shifts the focus to monsters – specifically, monsters emerging from rifts.
Avid Games has crafted a visually stunning array of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors. The game boasts impressive diversity, encompassing creatures from various cultures and legends. Expect encounters with Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake-onna, Slavic beings such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav, and a host of others, including Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, and El Chupacabra. Each card features detailed, researched descriptions, providing players with engaging, educational content.
Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, creating complex tactical possibilities. Monsters share some properties but not others, adding significant strategic depth. Players build their own Grimoire (monster collection) and level it up by merging duplicate cards. The initial release includes 160 basic cards, with many more accessible through merging, and further additions planned.
Two additional Hordes are slated for release within the next few months, ensuring the game's longevity and replayability. Gameplay involves a deck of nine monster cards and one world card, played over nine 30-second turns. Players must make strategic decisions regarding mana usage and synergistic combinations.
With its intricate mechanics and vast roster of creatures, Eerie Worlds offers a rich and engaging experience. Download it now for free on the Google Play Store and the App Store.
