Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for newcomers and returning players to experience the thrill of the hunt! This enhanced beta includes new content and features, so read on to learn how to participate.
New Monster, New Hunt
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to test the game before its official launch on February 28th. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta boasts new content, including the formidable Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.
Character data from the first beta is transferable to this beta and, later, the full game. However, progress will not carry over. Participating players receive in-game rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm and a bonus item pack to aid early-game progress.
Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating, "We’ve heard from many of you that you missed the chance to take part in the first beta, or that you wanted to play again, which is why we decided to have a second one." He also confirmed the team's ongoing work to finalize the full game. While a pre-launch community update detailed planned improvements, these changes won't be included in this beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
