Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test is exclusively for players in mainland China. While international fans can't participate, they can still follow the progress and get excited for the game's eventual release.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, which shouldn't surprise those familiar with the game's trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below). The new information expands on the game's blend of humor and unusual elements within the setting of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive market. Neverness to Everness, while fitting within the established 3D open-world RPG genre, aims to stand out with unique features.
One standout feature is open-world driving. Players will be able to purchase and customize various vehicles, experiencing the thrill (and consequences) of high-speed city driving. However, the game will face challenges from strong competitors like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which occupy similar niches in the mobile gaming market.
