Pokémon TCG Pocket's card art has captivated players, but recently discovered details reveal hidden connections to the Game Boy games. Reddit user asch_win initiated the investigation, highlighting Spearow's card art. The background subtly depicts Celadon City's Department Store and Route 16, mirroring the game's Spearow encounter location.

This intentional referencing of classic Pokémon games is further evidenced by discoveries from user jteede. A Diglett card is situated near Vermillion City, while a Haunter card is positioned by Lavender Town's tower. Further investigation by asch_win even uncovered location references within Supporter cards.

Many card illustrations depict Pokémon in fantastical settings unrelated to established lore. Some, like a Pikachu variant, mirror real-world collectible cards. However, others are unique to Pokémon TCG Pocket, making these Easter eggs particularly rewarding to find.

The weekend saw a surge in community investigation, uncovering additional references. A Gyarados card seems to feature the S.S. Anne, while Oddish, Venonat, and Bellsprout cards collectively recreate a scene from FireRed and LeafGreen's seaside Snorlax encounter.

Since its October launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket has received one additional booster expansion, Mythical Island, bringing the total to four. More expansions are anticipated, with additional cards periodically introduced through Wonder Pick Events and updates. As Creatures Inc. and DeNA continue to add cards, players are encouraged to remain vigilant for further hidden references.

Meanwhile, players can participate in the current Wonder Pick event featuring Charmander and Squirtle, and explore the ongoing debate surrounding the impact of pack selection.
