Final Fantasy XVI's director, Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P), politely requests fans avoid creating or using "offensive or inappropriate" mods for the PC release.
Final Fantasy XVI PC Launch: September 17th
Yoshi-P's Plea for Respectful Modding
In a recent PC Gamer interview, Yoshida-P addressed the upcoming PC release, urging players to refrain from creating or installing mods deemed "offensive or inappropriate." While director Hiroshi Takai was asked about potentially humorous mods, Yoshida-P clarified the team's preference for respectful content. He avoided specifics to prevent misinterpretations, stating simply that the team wants to avoid anything offensive or inappropriate.
Yoshida-P's experience with previous Final Fantasy titles likely exposed him to a wide range of mods, including some considered inappropriate or offensive. Online modding communities often feature a variety of content, from graphical enhancements to cosmetic changes. However, NSFW and other potentially harmful mods exist, falling under the "offensive or inappropriate" category. Examples include mods that replace character models with nude meshes and high-resolution textures.
Final Fantasy XVI's PC version boasts a 240fps frame rate cap and advanced upscaling technologies. Yoshida-P's request for respectful modding simply aims to maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all players.
