Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the Shu faction's true ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate scenario.
Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of ensuring Liu Bei's escape.
This is challenging, as you'll be largely alone against Cao Cao's forces. Liu Bei's defeat before Cao Cao's will necessitate a mission restart. To improve your odds:

Reduce Difficulty: Switch to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a difficult undertaking without adjusting the difficulty.

Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner; his starting position offers a tactical advantage, minimizing the initial distance to Cao Cao's forces.

Musou Meter Management: Ensure your Musou Rage meter is full before engaging Cao Cao's main army. You'll face two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for the latter.
Once Cao Cao's army is routed, defeating him should be relatively straightforward. A few additional missions remain before the true Shu ending is revealed.
