World of Warcraft: Your Guide to Catching the Legendary Riding Turtle

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a vast and competitive game. Standing out requires dedication and skill, often rewarded with rare in-game items. One such coveted prize is the Riding Turtle mount, a symbol of true WoW mastery.

Acquiring the Riding Turtle involves obtaining rare loot cards and, crucially, a substantial amount of in-game gold. This guide will detail the process.

Understanding the Riding Turtle

A recent WoW pre-update allowed solo players to form groups, creating opportunities to obtain exotic mounts like the Riding Turtle and Sea Turtle. This guide outlines strategies to acquire these collectibles and potentially convert your loot into gold. However, these methods might be adjusted by Blizzard, so act quickly!

The Angler's Approach

Hidden within your garrison's waters lies a treasure: Alliance players seek Lunarfall Carp, while Horde players hunt Frostdeep Minnow. These fish, caught at your fishing shack, are used to summon Lunarfall and Frostdeep Cavedwellers, who drop the coveted mounts.

To even begin this quest, you need the Draenor Angler achievement (100 of each Enormous Fish species in Warlords of Draenor). This unlocks a level 3 fishing shack, seemingly essential for catching the carp and minnow. Even then, the drop rate is a mere 3%, though enhancing your gear and using boosts may improve your chances.

Why Now Is the Optimal Time

Previously, only the player who tagged the Cave Dweller received rewards. The latest patch changes this, allowing raids of up to 40 players to share the loot. This makes fishing more collaborative and significantly increases the odds of acquiring rare mounts.

The combined drop rate was previously a daunting 3% (fishing) x 0.5% (Cave Dweller). Now, with up to 40 players, your chances are dramatically better.

While you don’t need the Draenor Angler achievement to join a raid, group leaders often prioritize players who can contribute. If you can't catch your own fish, you'll be seen as a liability. Find a welcoming group or form your own to maximize your rewards.
