KEMCO's latest Android release, Novel Rogue, is a captivating pixel-art fantasy JRPG with roguelite elements and card deck-building mechanics. This enchanting adventure plunges players into the magical worlds contained within four ancient books.
Players assume the role of Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright's journey involves delving into the narratives of these magical books, each transporting him to a unique and vibrant world.
One book leads to a quest assisting a princess knight in reclaiming her fallen kingdom, while another unveils the mysteries of the underworld. The dynamic nature of the game ensures that every playthrough offers a distinct experience, as player choices significantly impact the unfolding story and its diverse worlds.
Gameplay Mechanics:
Novel Rogue features a turn-based card battle system, with strategic variations depending on the chosen book and world. Each of the four worlds boasts its own unique deck-building system. After each battle, players select from three new cards to craft their optimal deck.
The game incorporates a "Change" command allowing players to strategically redistribute damage among allies. "Novel Power," fueled by ink, enhances deck strength, while "Deep Record" mode increases dungeon difficulty for a more challenging experience.
Players accumulate treasures to strengthen relationships with characters, ultimately unlocking special endings. "Witch Stones" provide a stylistic element, enabling players to customize character costumes.
Novel Rogue is available for free on the Google Play Store. A premium version offers 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional benefits, including ad-free gameplay.
