Darkside Detective Mystery Series Debuts with Original and Sequel

Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following the launch of the deck-building game Zoeti, they've now unveiled The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark – both simultaneously!

Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe

The game plunges players into the atmospheric, fog-laden city of Twin Lakes, a place where the bizarre and supernatural are commonplace. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly inept partner, Officer Patrick Dooley, as they tackle nine captivating cases for the underfunded Darkside Division of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Expect hilarious encounters and outlandish scenarios in both The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel, A Fumble in the Dark.

These point-and-click adventures offer a diverse range of challenges, from time travel paradoxes and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. View the trailer below for a glimpse into the game's unique charm!

Dive into the Mystery?

A playful homage to pop culture, the game is brimming with references to classic horror films, science fiction series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone hint at the whimsical nature of the gameplay: "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel" are just a few examples.

The game's humor is a standout feature, permeating every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. Players can also jump straight into A Fumble in the Dark without playing the prequel, also accessible on the Google Play Store.
