Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A 3-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test imposes a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access applies exclusively to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications for the test are currently open.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, FromSoftware continues to capitalize on its popularity with Nightreign, a highly anticipated spin-off. The original Elden Ring redefined the open-world RPG experience, winning numerous awards and achieving record-breaking sales. The excitement surrounding Nightreign surpasses even the initial Elden Ring launch hype.
Initially announced on January 10th, the network test's three-hour daily limit might disappoint those hoping for extended playtime. Participation requires visiting the official FromSoftware website; PC players are excluded from this test, though the final game will support the platform.
The network test's purpose, as stated on the FromSoftware website, is to conduct large-scale network load tests for online system verification. This follows the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion last summer and the surprise announcement of Nightreign at The Game Awards 2024.
Nightreign represents a significant departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-op gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test strongly suggests further news is imminent.
