Stellar Blade's recent update, including the highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking bugs. However, developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Patch 1.009, while delivering exciting new content, also caused significant issues. Players reported being softlocked during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing further progression. Additional problems included game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie camera and visual glitches with new cosmetic items.
Shift Up advises players to avoid forcing quest progression and wait for the hotfix. Attempts to circumvent the bugs might lead to permanent softlocks, even after the patch is released.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The update brings a substantial amount of content, most notably the NieR: Automata collaboration. This collaboration, born from mutual respect between directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, offers 11 exclusive items. Players can find these by interacting with Emil, the NieR character who has set up shop within Stellar Blade's world.
The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. To complement Photo Mode, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory (unlocked after completing a specific ending) that alters Tachy Mode's appearance. Additional ponytail customization options and lip-sync support for six languages have also been added. Further improvements include enhanced projectile auto-aim, bullet magnet adjustments for the instant death skill, and various smaller bug fixes.
