For much of the 21st century, Final Fantasy games were PlayStation exclusives. However, with a nearly 40-year history and a need to reach new audiences (and boost profits!), Square Enix, like many publishers, has embraced multi-platform releases. Besides PC ports, they've also brought numerous remasters and special editions to Nintendo's handhelds.
This isn't entirely new territory. Final Fantasy's connection to Nintendo goes back to its origins on the Famicom in 1987. The first six mainline entries debuted on Nintendo systems before Square Enix shifted primarily to PlayStation with Final Fantasy VII.
With Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth launching on PC and a significant Magic: The Gathering expansion boosting the series' profile in 2025, many are eager to explore the world of Final Fantasy. Below is a complete list of Final Fantasy games available on the Nintendo Switch, perfect for newcomers and veterans alike.

Final Fantasy I–VI Pixel Remaster

The first six Final Fantasy games are available in Square Enix's Pixel Remaster collection. Each features updated graphics, rearranged soundtracks, improved UIs, and new galleries. This is the ideal way to experience the classic Final Fantasy titles.
The Pixel Remasters are sold individually or as a six-game bundle. If buying individually, FFVI is recommended for its immersive storyline.

Final Fantasy VII

A port of the 1997 original, featuring 3x speed mode, optional encounter disabling, and battle enhancement. While the Remake offers modern mechanics, this version lets you experience the original's impact.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

A 2019 remaster of the 1999 original, including 3x speed mode, encounter disabling, and battle assist options.

(Continuing in this format for the remaining games, maintaining the original structure and image placements.)
