Forza Horizon 5, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, is making its way to PlayStation!
Playground Games' surprising announcement confirms the arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 this spring. This follows other Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny making their debut on PlayStation consoles.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version boasts identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This release reflects Xbox's expanding strategy of bringing its games to a wider audience, including PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Xbox head Phil Spencer has publicly endorsed support for the upcoming Switch 2.
Recent financial reports from Microsoft show a 2% increase in services revenue, driven by a 30% growth in PC Game Pass subscribers. However, overall gaming revenue declined, with console sales dropping by almost 30%. This financial picture might be influencing Xbox's focus on Game Pass and broader platform releases.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the popular open-world racing series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 lets players race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. You can find our comprehensive review here.
