Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, players can tailor their character to any preferred playstyle. Three are melee weapons and three are ranged weapons, each fully customizable.

Weapon Type Variety in Freedom Wars Remastered

The game features six weapon types, obtainable through Operations or purchased from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapon choices are fixed, players have complete control over their Accessory's weapon. Switching weapons frequently incurs no penalties. The six weapon types are:

Weapon Type Traits Light Melee Fast attacks, ideal for quick playstyles and single-target engagements. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. Heavy Melee Wide-sweeping attacks dealing substantial damage. Well-timed attacks can hit multiple Abductor limbs for amplified damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. Polearm Attacks often involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant damage from a distance. Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, perfect for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with the Thorne for advantageous positioning. Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. Autocannons High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid fire. Reduces movement speed.

Unlike the player character, Accessories do not consume ammo when using ranged weapons.
