Alkimia Interactive, the studio behind the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has given journalists early access to a brand-new demo. Originally planned for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.
This demo acts as a prequel to the full game, introducing a new protagonist: Niras, a prisoner arriving in the Miners' Valley. Unlike the original Nameless Hero, Niras' experiences will shape a unique perspective on the game's narrative and its inhabitants.
A previous prologue demo, showcasing Niras' arrival and introduction to the Colony's harsh realities, was shown at Gamescom 2024. This upcoming demo expands upon that, offering a more comprehensive look at the Gothic world's updated visuals and gameplay. Both the demo and the final game are nearly entirely rebuilt, promising extended playtime, enhanced orc interactions, and richer immersive details than the original.
The new Gothic 1 Remake demo launches on Steam during the Steam Next Fest, available for free from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd.
