In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, hunters aren't just limited to battling terrifying creatures; there's a vast world to explore and a variety of quests to undertake. If you're on a mission to find the elusive Rime Beetle, here's your guide to tracking it down and capturing it.
How To Find the Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds

If you've forgotten the hint from Samin, you'll need to journey to the Iceshard Cliffs region to find the Rime Beetle. This isn't as simple as setting a waypoint and letting your Seikret lead the way. Instead, you'll need to rely on your observational skills and a bit of luck to spot this creature in the wild.
Fortunately, the Rime Beetle is easier to find once you know where to look. This endemic creature loves rolling up balls of packed snow, making it easier to spot in snowy areas. Focus your search in the Iceshard Cliffs region, specifically in Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13. Once there, explore the snow-covered zones, and you should soon spot a Rime Beetle. Keep an eye out for tracks in the snow, as they can lead you right to it.

To capture the Rime Beetle, you'll need more than just your hands or the Hook Slinger; you'll need to equip your Capture Net. It's likely already in your equipment list, so hold L1/LB and scroll until you find it. Press Square/X to equip it, and use L2/LT to aim.
Once you have the Rime Beetle in your crosshairs, wait for the target to turn orange, then fire. Successfully doing so will add the Rime Beetle to your collection and complete Samin's request. If you choose to grab it the old-fashioned way, you'll get Frost Pods instead, which can be used to inflict ice damage in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.
