In the Marvel Rivals files, dataminers have found a fight with a kraken and a new mode

Reliable dataminer X0X_Leaks has uncovered exciting hints in the files of Marvel Rivals following the next update, suggesting the introduction of a PvE mode. Players can look forward to battling a formidable boss, the Kraken. While the monster model already boasts some animations, high-resolution textures are yet to be added. X0X_Leaks has even managed to insert the Kraken into a match using its size parameters from the game files, giving players a sneak peek at its potential in-game appearance.

Marvel Rivals has also unveiled the details of its major Spring Festival event, set to kick off this Thursday. The event introduces a unique game mode called Clash of Dancing Lions, where teams of three players will compete to score a ball into the opponent's goal. This mode draws comparisons to Lucioball, the inaugural special game mode in Overwatch, which itself was inspired by Rocket League. Although many may associate it directly with Rocket League due to the similarities, the influence from Overwatch is clear.

This comparison is particularly interesting as Marvel Rivals aims to carve out its own identity and differentiate itself from Overwatch. While it seeks to produce original content, its first major event features a mode reminiscent of Overwatch's initial event. The key difference lies in the thematic elements; Marvel Rivals incorporates a strong Chinese influence, in contrast to the Olympic Games aesthetic of Overwatch. As part of the Spring Festival event, players will also receive a complimentary Star-Lord costume, adding to the excitement.
