Marvel Snap in the US is blocked due to Tik-Tok restrictions

Developed by California-based studio Second Dinner and published by ByteDance subsidiary Nuverse, Marvel Snap was unexpectedly removed from iOS and Android platforms on January 18, 2025, alongside other Nuverse apps like CapCut and Lemon8. While PC users can still access the game on Steam, the sudden ban has left mobile players frustrated, particularly due to the lack of prior warning. Many players report authorization issues and express concern over in-game purchases made before the ban.

Despite the controversy, a statement from a Platform X official assures players: “Marvel Snap is here to stay. We're working hard to restore the game as quickly as possible, and we'll keep players informed of our progress.” Second Dinner developers have also expressed their surprise and are actively working on a solution.

Interestingly, the ban didn't affect all ByteDance apps. Games like Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground remain accessible.

Recent discussions have centered around the addition of the new card, Moonstone. This Ongoing card (4/6) offers a significant meta shift, copying the Ongoing effects of 1, 2, and 3-cost cards in its lane. The current abundance of low-cost Ongoing cards, such as Ant-Man and U.S. Agent, makes Moonstone particularly powerful. Unlike many inexpensive Ongoing cards that primarily focus on power generation, Moonstone rapidly gains power by freely acquiring these effects.
