Marvel SNAP's inaugural Spotlight Cache card of 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing character that enhances the Power of cards generated within your hand. While often considered a cornerstone of card-generation decks, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks as well. This guide presents two robust deck builds for Victoria Hand, one for each archetype, enabling you to adapt her to the current SNAP metagame.
Victoria Hand (2–3)
Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 7, 2025
The Best Deck for Victoria Hand
A card-generation deck featuring Devil Dinosaur is ideally suited for Victoria Hand. To maximize this synergy, combine Victoria and Devil Dinosaur with: Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.
Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed can substitute for Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga as flexible options.
Victoria Hand Deck Synergies
- Victoria Hand boosts cards added to your hand by card generators.
- Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl are your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards, enhancing buffs or disruption.)
- Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards, enabling you to play more.
- The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
- Cosmo serves as a tech card, protecting Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand from many enemy attacks when played in the same lane.
- Devil Dinosaur is your primary win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or when you have numerous generated cards in hand.
Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or cards that change locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card text requires clarification, as it specifies "your" hand. This warrants observation when playing Victoria Hand decks.
Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay
When using a Victoria Hand deck, consider:
- Energy Management: Balance card generation and Energy expenditure. A full hand maximizes Devil Dinosaur's growth, but you need space to generate cards and utilize Victoria Hand's effect. Efficient Energy use is crucial; sometimes skipping turns to maintain a full hand is more important than filling the board.
- Strategic Deception: Use random cards strategically to mislead your opponent and mask your next move.
- Ongoing Lane Protection: Your opponent will likely target your Victoria Hand lane with tech cards like Enchantress. Counter this by playing Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand in the same lane (creating an Ongoing setup) and protecting them with Cosmo.
Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand
Victoria Hand is also finding a place in refined discard decks within the current meta. For a strong discard deck, pair Victoria Hand with: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.
Countering Victoria Hand
Super Skrull is an effective counter to Victoria Hand in the current metagame. Many players still use Doctor Doom 2099 decks, which Skrull benefits from, making him a valuable tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.
Other counters include Shadow King (removes Victoria Hand's buffs from one lane) and Enchantress (removes all Ongoing effects). Valkyrie, played in a critical enemy lane, can also disrupt their Power distribution.
Is Victoria Hand a Valuable Acquisition?
Victoria Hand is a worthwhile addition to any collection. Whether obtained through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. While somewhat reliant on RNG, her permanent buffs facilitate consistent deck building. Her effectiveness across multiple archetypes—card-generation and discard—makes her a valuable asset for many players.
