The Best ‘Marvel Snap’ Meta Decks – September 2024 Edition

TouchArcade Rating:

Let's catch up on Marvel Snap (Free) deck-building strategies for this month's meta. Last month's balance felt pretty solid, but a new season brings new cards and potential shake-ups. Remember, today's top deck might be obsolete tomorrow! These are snapshots, not the only strategies.

These decks assume a complete card collection. I'll present five top-tier decks and a couple of more accessible, fun alternatives.

The Young Avengers haven't drastically altered the meta yet. Kate Bishop remains consistent, and Marvel Boy boosts 1-cost decks, but other cards are less impactful. The new Amazing Spider-Season and Activate ability, however, are game-changers; next month's meta will likely be vastly different.

Kazar and Gilgamesh

Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird

Surprisingly, a Kazoo deck is now top-tier, thanks to the Young Avengers. The core remains familiar: low-cost cards buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy adds extra buffs, and Gilgamesh thrives in this environment. Kate Bishop provides additional placement options and reduces Mockingbird's cost. A powerful deck, but its longevity remains to be seen.

Silver Surfer Reigns Supreme, Part II

Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool

Silver Surfer continues to dominate, with minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. The classic Nova/Killmonger combo provides early boosts. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw gains power from buffs, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent's power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secures the win. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.

Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Powerhouse

Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum

The Ongoing archetype also excels. The deck features cards with Ongoing abilities, boosted by Spectrum's end-game buff. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing synergy is strong, with Cage protecting cards from US Agent. This deck is easy to play, and Cosmo's utility is likely to increase.

Discard Dracula Domination

Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse

A classic Apocalypse-style Discard deck, featuring the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for an end-game Apocalypse/Dracula combo for massive power. Collector can be unexpectedly effective with enough Swarm plays.

The Unstoppable Destroy Deck

Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death

The Destroy deck remains strong, with Attuma benefiting from recent buffs. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, generating extra energy with X-23, and finishing with Nimrod or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the increasing prevalence of counter-strategies.

Here are a couple of fun, more accessible decks:

Darkhawk's Triumphant Return

Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature

A Darkhawk-focused deck utilizing classic combos with Korg and Rockslide. It includes disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova, and cards that encourage discarding to reduce Stature's cost.

Budget-Friendly Kazar

Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught

A beginner-friendly Kazar deck. While less reliable than the top-tier version, it teaches the core combo mechanics, featuring Kazar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught.

This month's meta is dynamic. The Activate ability and new cards will significantly impact October's meta. The return of classic decks is interesting, but unlikely to last. Happy Snapping!
