"Obsidian's Avowed Targets 60FPS on Xbox Series X"

Obsidian Entertainment's highly anticipated role-playing game, Avowed, is set to achieve a smooth 60 frames per second on the Xbox Series X. In a recent interview with MinnMax, game director Carrie Patel confirmed that players can expect to reach up to 60fps on Microsoft's more powerful console. However, fans of the Xbox Series S will have to settle for a 30fps experience, as previously announced.

While details on whether Avowed will feature a performance mode and graphics mode—like many modern games that offer 60fps at lower visual settings or 30fps with enhanced graphics—remain unclear, it's evident that the Xbox Series X version aims to deliver a fluid gameplay experience. Whether this is through a default setting or a specific performance option has yet to be disclosed.

Scheduled for release on February 13, Avowed comes with a premium price tag of $89.99 for early access. Those opting for the standard $69.99 version will have to wait until February 18, reflecting a recent pricing strategy adopted by some publishers, though abandoned by others like Ubisoft.

Set within the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, Avowed is a first-person fantasy RPG that places a strong emphasis on player choice. The narrative delves into themes of war, mystery, and intrigue, allowing players to explore the world and build relationships—or rivalries—with the characters they encounter.

Avowed has already garnered positive attention, with IGN's Final Preview praising its nuanced conversations and player freedom. They noted, "Avowed is just a lot of fun," highlighting its engaging gameplay and immersive world.
