Official: Dungeonborne is preparing to shut down

Dungeonborne, a PvPvE action game reminiscent of Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Its developers have announced the cessation of support and the permanent closure of its servers, effective May 28th. The game, which enjoyed a brief lifespan of less than a year, ultimately failed to maintain a substantial player base.

While the Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. Specific reasons for the closure haven't been publicly stated, but dwindling player numbers are undoubtedly a major factor. Concurrent player counts plummeted to a mere 10-15 in recent weeks, following a period of consistently low activity (under 200) since late 2024.

The shutdown marks a premature end for Dungeonborne, a title that initially generated considerable buzz within its genre but ultimately fell short of its potential due to insufficient player engagement and a lack of substantial updates.
