Blizzard is once again at the heart of an Overwatch 2 controversy. The developer sold the Cyber DJ Lucio skin for $19.99, only to reveal a day later that it would be available for free. The skin was offered to Twitch viewers who watched a dedicated Overwatch 2 event broadcast for one hour on February 12th.

This sparked outrage among players who had already purchased the skin. This isn't the first time Blizzard has sold cosmetic items and later offered them for free through promotions, leading to calls for refunds. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard hasn't yet addressed the refund requests.

Adding to Blizzard's challenges, Marvel Rivals is significantly outperforming Overwatch 2. In response, Blizzard announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th, promising revolutionary gameplay changes. The event will unveil new maps, heroes, and other content, and will feature prominent streamers getting a sneak peek at upcoming updates at Blizzard headquarters.
