How To Get Paradisan Ladder in Avowed

-------------------------------------

There are five primary methods to obtain Paradisan Ladder in *Avowed*: purchasing from Merilyn the merchant in Paradise, discovering plants during exploration, receiving them as side quest rewards, breaking down items already infused with it, and downgrading Hylea’s Talon.

Merylin the Merchant

The fastest and most reliable way to acquire Paradisan Ladder is by buying it from Merilyn, who is located in South Paradise, as shown on the map above. Upon your first visit, Merilyn will mention her goal to outdo her blacksmith sister nearby, and then you can browse her inventory. She offers five units of Paradisan Ladder at 150 coins each.

Additionally, she sells two unique items—the Many-Hued Doublet light armor and the Common Grimoire of Elements—which can be broken down to yield two units of Paradisan Ladder each. Note that her stock does not replenish once sold out, even after resting at a party camp. Visiting Merilyn remains the best option for those needing a quick upgrade.

Paradisan Ladder can also be found while exploring *Avowed's* wilderness and occasionally within city areas like Paradis. Use your mini-map to spot the plant icon, as highlighted by the red circle above. While exploring, you may encounter various plants, but picking any you come across during your quests can help build your stockpile at no cost.

Side Quests

*Avowed* encourages players to engage in side quests, partly due to the need for Paradisan Ladder for upgrades. For instance, the early side quest "Escape Plan," encountered during the main campaign, rewards you with crafting materials, including two units of Paradisan Ladder. This approach not only provides you with the necessary herb but also grants you XP and other bonuses.

Breaking Down Items

In *Avowed*, you can break down items at your party camp workbench to reclaim core crafting materials such as Softwood Branches, Pelts, and Iron Chunks. Higher-quality items upgraded with Paradisan Ladder can also be broken down to retrieve some of it for reuse. As noted with Merilyn, check merchant inventories for unique items that list Paradisan Ladder in their "Break Down" descriptions.

If you've advanced to Emerald Stair in *Avowed's* campaign and acquired Hylea’s Talon, you can downgrade it into three units of Paradisan Ladder each. Head to your workbench at the party camp, navigate to the "Crafting" tab, and switch from "Upgrade Materials" to "Downgrade" to convert Hylea’s Talon.

This method is particularly useful if you're set on a specific weapon loadout and don't anticipate needing more Hylea’s Talon. It's also an excellent way to quickly upgrade a different weapon to match the strength of your current equipment.
