Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, where co-founder Marc Merrill shared exciting updates in a post-event discussion with Stephen Totilo. One of Merrill's primary ambitions is to bring an immersive MMO to life within the expansive universe of League of Legends and Arcane. This project, which he admitted consumes the majority of his time, stems from his deep passion for the genre. Merrill's commitment, coupled with the fervent desire of League of Legends fans to delve deeper into their beloved universe, sets a strong foundation for potential success.

While specific details about the MMO remain under wraps, including any release timeline, Merrill humorously remarked that he hopes the game will launch before the first human sets foot on Mars. Whether this playful prediction will come to fruition is yet to be seen.

In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another title set in the League of Legends universe: 2XKO, a fighting game eagerly anticipated by fans. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already provided glimpses through trailers and has a confirmed release window, expected to hit the market before the year's end.
