This guide details the "Just Like the Good Old Days" main mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This mission follows either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," concluding with an escape from the SIRCAA.
Key Objectives:
- Talk to Professor Lodochka: Locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp on Wild Island. Expect a detour to eliminate marked mercenaries before reaching him. Pack sufficient gear; this is not the only combat encounter.
- (Optional) Activate the Ventilation System: This side objective begins after dispatching the mercenaries. Locate a fuse (marked on the map), then proceed to the engineering rooms (also marked). Beware of an invisible enemy within. Restore power to the ventilation system using the fuse. While not rewarding special loot, this simplifies the later stages of the mission.
- Find the Source of the Signal: Prepare for a challenging encounter; consider upgrading your weaponry. Locate the cave entrance near the water. Navigate the caverns westward, descending and overcoming obstacles. Utilize a broken pipe to reach higher cave levels. Find the emitter near a large cone-shaped spire. Another invisible enemy awaits on your return journey. Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission, unlocking "Hornet's Nest" as the next main mission.
