"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for their live-service game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, marking the end of new content development with Season 4 Episode 8. Launched to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game will cease receiving new updates after the patch released on January 14, 2025. This final update is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Despite its promising premise, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faced criticism primarily due to its unexpected shift to a live-service model, which many believe contributed to its swift decline. Just 10 months after its release, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would conclude the game's content cycle. However, the developer assured fans that the game's servers would remain active, allowing continued multiplayer experiences.

Following a brief period of server maintenance, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance is now live, inviting players to dive into new challenges. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, alongside powerful new Notorious weapons and a final showdown against Brainiac in the new Mayhem mission. Additionally, the patch includes significant bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels, benefiting players retroactively.

Even after the latest update, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League remains playable offline, thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7. This feature ensures that players can enjoy the game's main and seasonal story missions without an internet connection. While no server shutdown has been announced, the offline mode provides a safety net for future play.

For those who missed out on the game during its active period, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, 2025, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Explore the medieval Elseworld further in Episode 8: Balance, encountering both familiar sights with new twists and entirely new locations.
