The official synopsis for The Fantastic Four: First Steps:
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) — as they confront their most formidable challenge yet. Balancing their heroic duties with their familial bonds, they must defend Earth from the voracious space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his mysterious Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). The stakes become intensely personal when Galactus's plan to consume the planet escalates.
The film, slated for release on July 25, 2025, stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the titular Fantastic Four. Ralph Ineson portrays Galactus, and Julia Garner plays Silver Surfer. Supporting roles include Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, with Kevin Feige producing.
At New York Comic Con (NYCC) in October, artwork showcased a live-action glimpse of H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics). Speculation abounds regarding a potential Robert Downey Jr. cameo as Doctor Doom, although this remains unconfirmed. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's appearances in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
