Here are some crucial early-game tips we wish we'd known:
Don't Randomly Attack Other Players
Screenshot by The EscapistInitially, Rune Slayer's full-loot PvP worried us, but it's less brutal than expected. Death doesn't mean losing items; you simply respawn. However, attacking players earns you a bounty. The more kills, the larger your bounty, and the more you lose upon death. Therefore, avoid attacking unless you have a compelling reason or a group for backup.
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistInventory and bank space are severely limited. Fortunately, you can craft bags. Two can be equipped simultaneously, starting with the Cotton Bag. Find Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of stronger mobs in the south). Each Cotton Bag adds 10 slots – craft them ASAP!
Your Pets Don't Actually Die
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to popular belief, your pets don't perish permanently. After reaching zero health, they have a 5-minute cooldown before resummoning (check with the 'T' key). To quickly heal your pet, store and retrieve it at the stable master (you have one free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The EscapistRune Slayer boasts numerous quests, mostly the typical "kill X" variety. To streamline things, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. Often, multiple quests can be completed simultaneously.
Craft Everything at Least Once

Join a Guild
While Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, tougher enemies require teamwork. Guilds are the easiest way to find groups. Use general chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord to find a guild and tackle challenging foes together.
