Get Ready for Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta in Pokémon GO's Unova Tour!
Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokémon GO as part of the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, alongside a Shiny Meloetta! Learn how to capture and fuse these powerful Pokémon below.
The Legendary Duo Arrives
Following the December 2024 announcement, Niantic has confirmed the debut of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta for the February 2025 Unova Tour. From February 21st to 23rd, 2025, attendees in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can participate in special events to catch and fuse Kyurem.
To obtain the base Kyurem form, players must defeat either Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids.
Kyurem Fusion: Unleash New Power!
Once you've caught Kyurem, you can fuse it with either Zekrom or Reshiram to create its Black or White forms, respectively. This fusion unlocks powerful new attacks: Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem) and Ice Burn (White Kyurem).
Here's what you'll need:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Zekrom Candy
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, 30 Reshiram Candy
Fusion Energies are obtained by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversing the fusion back to the base Kyurem form is free. Shiny Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom will also have increased encounter rates during the event.
The global event, Pokémon GO Tour: Unova - Global, runs from March 1st to 2nd, 2025, and is free for all players!
Shiny Meloetta Makes its Debut!
The "Melody Pokémon," Shiny Meloetta, will appear for the first time in Pokémon GO! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this elusive Pokémon. The research doesn't expire, allowing for completion at your own pace.
A Blast from the Past: Unova's Iconic Legendaries
Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta originally debuted in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation of Pokémon games. Their alternate forms, with their signature Ice Burn and Freeze Shock moves, were introduced in Pokémon Black and White 2. Now, trainers can experience the full power of the Unova region's legendary Pokémon in Pokémon GO!
