Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: No DRM, No Microtransactions, and More!
Good news for players! Saber Interactive has officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch without any DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. This announcement addresses concerns about potential performance impacts often associated with DRM.
No DRM, No Microtransactions
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive clarified that the upcoming action-packed title will be free of DRM like Denuvo. While DRM is frequently used to combat piracy, it sometimes negatively impacts gameplay. The decision to forgo DRM is a welcome one for many gamers.
While the game will be DRM-free, it will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat software on PC to maintain fair play. This anti-cheat solution has faced scrutiny in the past, but its inclusion aims to prevent cheating without compromising the gaming experience.
The developers also confirmed that there are currently no plans for official mod support. However, this absence is offset by the inclusion of exciting features such as a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Furthermore, Saber Interactive has guaranteed that all core gameplay content will be available to all players; any microtransactions or paid DLC will be strictly limited to cosmetic items.
