Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. Following the successful launches of the 2023 and 2024 iterations, this January showcase promises a fresh look at upcoming Xbox titles.

The event is slated to begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch.

Confirmed Games:

Microsoft has already confirmed three titles for the showcase:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially revealed in June 2024, with a playable demo at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), first announced in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.

Beyond the Confirmed Lineup:

While these three games are confirmed, the previous Developer Directs (both exceeding 40 minutes) showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional surprises are likely in store for viewers of the 2025 showcase.
