12BT, also known as Bead 12, Sholo Guti, or 12 Tehni, is a two-player board game similar to checkers or draughts. Each player starts with 12 pawns. A pawn can move to an empty adjacent space, or it can capture an opponent's pawn by jumping over it. The goal is to capture all of your opponent's 12 pawns. This game shares similarities with other strategy games like Quirkat (al-qirq or Alquerque (القرقات‎)), Halma, Chinese Checkers, and Konane, although the board setup may differ. Alquerque, in particular, has a similar board and setup to Bara Biti. While Draughts/Checkers has a different board layout, familiarity with it can aid in learning 12BT and Quirkat.
