HoYoVerse's parent company, MiHoYo, is keeping busy! Their upcoming game, initially known as Astaweave Haven, has a new name: Petit Planet. While details remain scarce, this shift hints at a potential change in direction for the developer.
Initially anticipated as a gacha game or RPG, Astaweave Haven's rebranding to Petit Planet suggests a different genre – possibly a life simulation or management game reminiscent of Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. This departure from MiHoYo's established open-world gacha formula is intriguing.
While MiHoYo hasn't officially revealed much, Astaweave Haven received Chinese approval for PC and mobile releases in July. The name change to Petit Planet was registered in October, and is now awaiting approval in the US and UK.
Given MiHoYo's rapid release schedule (consider the quick succession of Zenless Zone Zero after Honkai: Star Rail), we can hopefully expect a glimpse of Petit Planet soon after the name secures approval.
