Call of Duty: Black Ops Update to Enhance Player Achievements

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they're developing this functionality, absent from launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.

While a release date remains unannounced, the feature's arrival is anticipated soon, potentially alongside the Season 2 content update slated for later this month. This news follows a January 9th update addressing various Multiplayer and Zombies bugs, including UI and audio fixes, and a boost to XP rewards in the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode after player feedback.

Challenge Tracking on the Way

Treyarch's Twitter response to a fan inquiry confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." Its inclusion in Modern Warfare 3 made its absence in Black Ops 6 noticeable, especially for players pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3, providing a real-time challenge tracker within the game's UI, allowing players to monitor progress without leaving the match.

More Improvements Planned

Treyarch also confirmed another significant improvement is underway: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This addresses player frustration over constantly adjusting HUD preferences between modes. Both the challenge tracking and separate HUD settings are currently under development.
