The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global mobile run. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are officially shutting down. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023 and will cease operations on August 29th, 2024.
Shutdown Date:
Code Geass: Lost Stories will be unavailable after August 29th, 2024. Account access will be terminated, and official global social media will also close on that date. In-app purchases and new downloads are already disabled.
Reasons for Shutdown:
While no official reason has been given, the game's low download numbers and less-than-stellar global reviews likely contributed to its early closure. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a player base outside of Japan due to lower player spending. The Japanese version, however, continues to thrive.
Japanese players can still access the game via the Google Play Store. For those looking for alternative gaming experiences, consider checking out the Sky: Children of the Light Tournament of Triumph!
