Acquire Your Pet
Upon launching Diablo IV Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town's Wardrobe. Claim your pet! While combat-ineffective, pets significantly expedite gold and material collection, freeing you to focus on combat and loot.
Recruit Your Mercenaries
(Vessel of Hatred expansion required) Head to the Den and recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can utilize two, easing leveling and combat while building Rapport for additional rewards.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the green leaf-marked seasonal questline. This introduces Season 7 mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and new Witch powers. While short, it includes puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones – the most efficient method to reach level 60. Repeatedly defeat Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade Witch powers concurrently.
Unlock Your Class Power
Prioritized class quests are bypassed if completed on a previous character (requires logging in with that character on the Eternal realm first). For example, a new Season 7 Rogue benefits from logging in with a previously leveled Rogue who has finished these quests. The class power automatically unlocks upon reaching the required level.
Mastering Headhunt Zones
While in Headhunt zones, actively complete Whispers. Four zones are always active; prioritize smaller, denser zones for faster mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these Whisper quests:
- Fugitive Shepherd: Escort animals.
- Fugitive: Defeat Elites, interact with roots to recover a head or destroy a husk.
Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers. Alternatively, utilize the Raven of the Tree spawning in each Headhunt zone.
Harnessing Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot (obtained by killing Rot enemies). Prioritize damage-boosting powers. Certain powers require interacting with Forgotten Altars found in dungeons (regular, Nightmare, Pits, Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty) or increase your chances by consuming a Draught of Whispers.
Conquering Rootholds
Rootholds (new dungeon type) require Whispering Wood (obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests). Similar to Infernal Hordes, activate negative modifiers to enhance loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot; modifiers affect quantity and quality. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.
Utilizing Occult Gems
Craft Occult Gems (Gelena at the Tree of Whispers) for jewelry slots; they outperform regular gems. Focus on late-game crafting; they are expensive, requiring Restless Rot and Heads (from Roothold bosses and Headhunt Fugitives; Draught of Whispers increases chances).
Optimizing Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Continue incorporating Pits (Glyph leveling) and Nightmare Dungeons (Glyph acquisition) into your routine. Farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance Uniques.
