A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, plagued by numerous delays spanning nearly a decade. Initially starting in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, development was hampered by BioWare's focus on Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, diverting crucial resources. Further complicating matters, the initial design clashed with the company's shift toward live-service games, leading to a complete development halt.
The project was revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," eventually announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
Despite the challenges, the journey is nearing its end. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is slated to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this fall. Prepare for your return to Thedas!
