Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new game, codenamed Project Delta. Details are scarce, as the agreement revealed by People Can Fly designates Project Delta as a work-for-hire title, offering no further specifics on the project itself.

This new project joins a substantial portfolio of games currently in development at People Can Fly. These include Project Gemini (a collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year), Project Echo (with Krafton), Project Red (also seemingly with Sony), and the recently announced VR Project Bison, which the studio confirmed will be its final foray into VR development.

The studio's recent history includes the December suspension of Project Victoria and the scaling down of Project Bifrost. Furthermore, Project Dagger, an action-adventure title planned in partnership with Take-Two Interactive, was cancelled in April.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy, with eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day remains unannounced, Project Gemini, the Square Enix partnership, was last reported to be targeting a 2026 launch.
