Following several Closed Alpha tests, Splitgate 2 is opening its doors to everyone with a new Open Alpha Test! This highly anticipated sequel, revealed in 2024, is giving players a chance to experience the fast-paced portal action.
When is the Open Alpha?
The Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Test begins February 27th, 2025, and runs until March 2nd, 2025, on PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and PC.
How to Join the Open Alpha:
Starting February 27th:
- Visit your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store).
- Search for "Splitgate 2".
- Download the Crossplay Alpha Test.
What to Expect:
The Open Alpha will feature crossplay functionality and a brand-new 24-player mode: Multi-Team Portal Warfare. This massive mode pits three teams of eight against each other on Splitgate's largest map yet. Expect new weapons, perks, and equipment alongside the signature portal mechanics that define the Splitgate experience. While new classes/factions with unique abilities are planned, the core gameplay revolves around the innovative portal system. Developer 1047 Games emphasizes that player feedback has heavily influenced the game's development.
