NetEase Games has unveiled a comprehensive developer update outlining the exciting changes coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST. This season introduces a host of new content, including a revamped roster and significant balance adjustments.
Season 1 Highlights:
- New Villain and Heroes: Dracula takes center stage as the main antagonist, while the Fantastic Four join the playable roster. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman arrive on day one, with Human Torch and The Thing following six to seven weeks later.
- Battle Pass: A $10 battle pass offers 10 skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.
- Gameplay Enhancements: Three new maps and a thrilling new game mode, "Doom Match," will be introduced.
Balance Adjustments:
The developer update also addresses balance concerns. Hela and Hawkeye, previously dominant forces, will receive nerfs to curb their overwhelming power in higher-level play. Conversely, mobility-focused Vanguards like Captain America and Venom are getting buffs to enhance their effectiveness in aggressive playstyles. Further buffs are slated for Wolverine and Storm, encouraging more strategic use of these mutant heroes. Cloak and Dagger will also see improvements to better integrate them into diverse team compositions. Finally, adjustments are planned for Jeff the Land Shark to better align his warning signals with his ultimate attack's hitbox.
