Nintendo Unveils Today App: A Hub for Fans' News and Content

Authore: ChloeUpdate:Mar 28,2025

Nintendo has launched a new app called Nintendo Today, directly from the creators of Super Mario Bros., to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. The announcement came as a surprise from the legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct. Available for download today on the Apple App Store and Google Play, this app promises a range of exciting features for avid Nintendo enthusiasts.

Nintendo Today acts as a comprehensive hub, functioning as a daily calendar and news feed to keep players informed with real-time updates. Following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the app to access all the latest news and updates, with Miyamoto promising that new content will be added "daily". This approach provides a more direct line of communication to fans, beyond the traditional Nintendo Direct format, ensuring they stay up-to-date even without major announcements.

The app also introduces a fun element with daily greetings from beloved characters such as Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing residents, enhancing the user experience. Besides news, the feed will include Nintendo-themed content, such as the Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal, adding an extra layer of engagement for fans.

While Nintendo Today might not be the big reveal of a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that many were hoping for, it serves as an additional channel for fans to connect with the latest from Nintendo.
