Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their forthcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly impacts their authority, influencing military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant migration. A chieftain's movements will be dynamically influenced by various factors, requiring them to either negotiate peacefully with settled populations or forcibly displace them.
Furthermore, players will manage transportable yurts, similar to adventurer camps. These yurts can be upgraded with various components, each providing unique benefits.
The expansion will also feature iconic yurt towns, which nomadic rulers will carry with them as they move, mirroring the functionality of adventurer camps. These settlements, like their adventurer counterparts, are upgradeable, allowing players to construct additional structures with diverse functions.
