If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, then you won't have to wait much longer. That's because it's set to launch on January 29th, alongside a brand-new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown, which releases the very next day!
Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket is exactly what it sounds like: you'll be able to exchange certain rarities of cards with friends, mimicking the in-person trading experience. To do this, you'll need to use trade hourglasses and trade tokens, adding an intriguing layer of strategy and authenticity to this digital version of the iconic physical card collector.
The Space-Time Smackdown expansion, fittingly named, introduces some fan-favorite cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket. Pokémon from the Sinnoh region will make their debut, featuring two new digital booster packs that include the iconic legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia.
If legendaries aren't your thing, you'll be thrilled to see other favorites like Lucario, as well as the starting trio of Sinnoh region Pokémon: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. These cards will be accessible through the Wonder Pick feature, as well as traditional booster packs.
I've no doubt that this will be a hit update, if only for the addition of long-awaited Pokémon to the roster. However, there have already been some discussions about how trading will work, so here's hoping the promise of continual tweaks to that feature will ensure a smooth experience.
