Garry's Mod creator Gary Newman confirmed today to IGN that he received a DMCA notice recently from people associated with the Skibidi Toilet copyright owners. Newman posted on a Discord server about the takedown notice, remarking, "Can you believe the audacity?" He subsequently saw himself embroiled in a Skibidi Toilet x Garry's Mod DMCA-related drama that went viral last week. Newman reportedly also confirmed that the matter has now been "resolved" following the reveal, though the identity of the DMCA sender has yet to be disclosed.

The notice Newman received pertained to his sandbox game published by Valve in 2006, Garry's Mod. The DMCA notice targeted "unauthorized Skibidi Toilet Garry's Mod" games, which generates substantial revenue, according to the DMCA sender. These games use characters from the viral Skibidi Toilet web series, such as Titan Cameraman, Titan Speakerman, and Titan TV Man, all of which the sender claimed to be registered copyrights.
