Kojima Productions, in collaboration with Sony, announced the release date for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2) at the SXSW event on March 9, 2025, held in Austin, Texas. The director, Hideo Kojima, kicked off the panel with a captivating 10-minute trailer that offered glimpses into new narrative elements and gameplay sequences. The trailer emphasized the game's ongoing exploration of human connectivity within a post-apocalyptic setting.
Joining Kojima were PlayStation's Global Content Communications Manager Kristen Zitan, as well as DS2 actors Norman Reedus, reprising his role as Sam Porter Bridges, Troy Baker, and the French Music Director and Designer Woodkid.
